2026 Preliminary Town Budget

& the 2026 Fire & Ambulance Contracts

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Groton will hold a Public Hearing on the 2026 Preliminary Budget at the Groton Town Hall, 101 Conger Boulevard, Groton, New York, at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, as part of a Regular Monthly Meeting. Pursuant to Section 113 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following Town Officers are as follows:

 

Town Supervisor ……………....$15,654.67

Town Clerk & Tax Collector…  $68,202.44

Highway Superintendent………$87,976.51

Councilperson (4)……………...…$4,749.17 ea.

 

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 184 of the Town Law, that a hearing on the 2026 Fire Protection and Ambulance Service Contracts will be held immediately following the Preliminary Budget Hearing.  The proposed contracts with the Fire Company in the Groton Fire Protection District are hereby specified as follows:

 

Groton Fire Department…………...$167,000.00

Ambulance Service………………….$188,000.00

 

At the time and place of the public hearing the Town Board will take statements, testimony, and evidence from the public, and any individuals with visual, hearing, or other impairments or disabilities that require, or wish to request, assistance should contact the Town Clerk, Robin Cargian at (607) 898-5035 at least 48 hours prior to the time of the Public Hearing.  Please click for a copy of the budget.
